Bail application proceedings for accused in AKA, Tibz murders continues
The State is expected to reply to the defence's arguments that there was no reason their clients shouldn't be granted bail.

DURBAN - Proceedings in the bail application of the accused in the Kiernan "AKA" Forbes murder trial continues on Friday in the Durban Magistrates Court.
AKA and his friend, celebrity chef Tebello "Tibz” Motsoane, were shot and killed in Durban in February 2023.

On Friday, the State is expected to reply to the defence's arguments.
During court proceedings on Thursday, the defence lawyers argued that there was no reason their clients shouldn't be granted bail.
"The State is conceding that investigation is nowhere near complete, which means there are going to be delays," said the lawyer for accused 2, Lindani Ndimande, Advocate Joe Wolmarans.
"There’s been delays since February last year, since the deceased were shot."
Meanwhile, lawyers for some of the others accused argued that their families were struggling in their absence as they are sole breadwinners.
The alleged mastermind, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, is said to be a provider for two of his wives, one of whom is currently a student.
Proceedings were rolled over to Friday morning to allow the State to cement its arguments to oppose bail.
